THE GLOBAL JOY PROJECT
The One Million Years of Joy global research project aims to discover how people experience and share joy in their lifetimes. Once the ages of all the participants add up to one million, we will share the global findings, with the objective of inspiring people on how to more easily access joy and live a purposeful existence.
The WHY behind the project
Joy saved my live! Why? I survived a nine-hour brain operation to remove a benign brain tumor during the COVID lockdown. Yes, it was intense! But instead of letting that experience bring me down, I went on a quest to explore my purpose in life with a fresh perspective.
I introduced The Trilogy of Joy model in my TEDx talk (How To Find Joy In Adversity) in 2022, and I will be publishing a book on this model in the near future.
And the joy just keeps on coming! In 2023, I decided to launch the One Million Years Of Joy podcast to document how we experience, find and share joy throughout our lives. Because let's face it, who doesn't want more joy in their lives, right?
THE DOCUSERIES
Directed by Dr. Andreea Vanacker, the 5-part docuseries will explore the science of joy, generational and cultural aspects of joy, how we can elevate joy at work and integrate more joyful moments in our every day lives. To learn more or to partner with us please reach out on LinkedIn.
THE PODCAST
Join us every Tuesday to listen to interviews with global guests who share their stories about finding and spreading joy. To date, we have interviewed entrepreneurs, CEOs, artists, neuroscientists, musicians, doctors, authors and young talent such as Gitanjali Rao, who won the Kid Of the Year award by Time magazine - ultimately change makers that are having a positive impact on the world.
